Well guys as you know I couldnt make it to the racecourse for week 5 there is just so much going on here at Sams Stars Stables.
Half of our horses really do have a mind of their own and at the moment it is one thing after another with them.
I think they all need teaching some manners.
So what on earth happened????
Race 4 Waltzing Matilda 3/4. she should have won.
I'm very pleased with Captain Crash, if only we had more like him.

I did write a HUGE article on week 5, especially the Group 1 race, then pressed to submit the post and my IE blew a gasket!! Will write it again this evening.

PSS
we here at pss are highly suspicious of the run of castle chop she came back very relaxed and starving hungry after a quick inspection of the stabling block some suspicious items were found a rizla packet with the top ripped off and a 2 litre pop bottle half filled with water a biro case stuck in one side and a hole in the other[ as if something had been removed]. although this proves nothing security will be raised for further meetings .

CRISIS:

With a world record 7 2nd places, cue much scratching of heads at FFF. Despite being 4th in the prize-money charts only 1 solitary win for a mediocre filly who is now impossible to place is causing a severe drain on the stable lads gambling fund.
What will be the plan this week? Wish I knew!

We here at Va Va Voom Stables are quietly pleased with the way things are progressing. We are aiming to give our horses the benefit of early race course experience in the hope that they can make an impact at the end of the 2 year old season, when they are able to run at their optimum distances.

Kolo Toure performed well and finished fourth in the 6f Listed race for Fillies, relishing the heavy ground. He is simply not a sprinter though, and will be seen to much greater effect next season.

Tony Adams didn't run a good race finishing fifth in the 1m Free Foal Maiden, but will come on for the run, and will be much better over the stamina tests to come in the future.

Sol Campbell was out to gain experience in the June Sprint Group 2 race, and picked up the 4th place prize money for his trouble!

Ian Wright ran in the 1m Listed Stakes, finishing 5th. He is another who needs much further.

Edu ran a decent sixth in the final race the 5f Maiden, which has gained him valuable experience.

Early Promise continued in her winning ways - more by luck than anything else. Her superb temprament is a credit to the stable and our young apprentice is proving to be the perfect partner for the filly despite his lack of racecourse experience at the start of the season. To grab a Group 2 win so early in his career is a massive boost and with continued hard work, he may one day prove to be a top jockey.

At the other end of the behaviour scale is Beach Comber who once again decided that racing isn't his favourite pastime! We will be sending him to the top horse psychologist for further specialist training in an attempt to at least get him into (and out of!) the stalls at the same time as the rest of the field.

With the upcoming stayers events, confidence is at an all time high at Whispering Downs and we will be running some of our potential stars of the future in coming weeks. Watch out for next season's Derby Winner - he makes his debut in a couple of weeks and with the top stable jockey on board we have high hopes for a horse who could have a long (unbeaten?) career!
