Well the entries bag is full and overflowing here at the Win2Win Downs administration office. Never before have we seen so many horses paying a visit to the track for a weeks racing.

Early indications are that we won't have enough stable boxes for all the horses at the track, and we are asking all early runners to vacate their boxes asap to make room for the later runners.

The betting markets look set to be very tricky indeed, and we have granted permission for another on course bookmakers licence this week to the enigmatic 'Shady Stereo Turf Accountants'. Shady has offerd to price up several races for us this week, and we have no doubt that he will price up the markets accordingly.

Continuing on the betting theme, Shady may have his nose put out of joint and less money in his satchel if the planned exchange 'Simfair' exchange manages to get off the ground in the forthcoming weeks. 'Simfair' will be an exchange with a difference, as it allows owners and trainers to bet and lay their own horses for the first time. This will have Shady and his bookie friends looking to price the markets up perfectly otherwise the punters will simply 'Simfair'!

Lot's of exciting times ahead at W2W Downs, and we are particularly looking forward to the 4 Championship Races at the end of the season. The top 10 horses in each category will battle it out on random surfaces with NO chance of injury. This means that you can run in the preceding weeks Group 1 races without penalty of risking injury in the Championship races. If you are injured in Week 10, you will STILL be eligible for the Champ races, everyone races off a level playing field.....if your horse deserves to be in the field, he WILL be in the field!!

Good luck this week, and remember to vacate those stables early to allow space for the later races.

5.30pm on Sunday is the time of this weeks races...hopefully we'll get a bumper crowd in for the largest race meeting yet.

Mark.

PSS STABLE NEWS
we here at pss are having our annual beono this weekend so we will be bringing the whole stable to the races all horses will get a run this week with i'm sure some very mixed results, we decided to do this at this time because next week due to annual leave and other staff shortages we will not be able to attend week 8's meeting. the stable lads and lassies have pooled their money to back a couple of our horses so maybe watching our bets will give the best indication to our chances. strict instructions have been given to ALL staff that there is to be no alcohol until after the last race so if you see anyone misbehaving please let me know[doesn't include me obviously]

Workshy's Stable Report:

Week seven sees the Bank Job's stable fielding 4 runners. The eye-catching declaration has to be the entry of dual listed winner Nos Boss in the Group 1 July stakes. Trainer Workshy, having been training Nos Boss in Italy for 4 weeks, is hoping for good ground or he feels the horses’ chances will be next to nothing. Should the ground come good on the day then the stable and connections are hoping for at least a place, with a little more than hope that the well-bred Nos Boss can win. The soul objective of the run is to get Nos Boss in the end of season championships. For those unaware Nos has only the one sprint win, with his debut win coming over seven furlongs, “a trip he will never see again” stated trainer Workshy. Season two entries are unclear for this impressive two year old but it is clear, he will be in group company on a regular basis.

Another well-bred sprinter in the Workshy stable is Shock Horror, making her second appearance of the season in the listed six furlong sprint (race nine), where soft-heavy going will be beneficial. Trainer Workshy has stated his intentions clearly, “Shock Horror is one of our best fillies and is going to the downs [win 2 win] to win”. After an impressive debut, this filly will surely go on to better things, with Workshy looking for a suitable group sprint in weeks nine or ten.

The stable has two additional runners in Zero Chance, who will be looking for a true run race to gauge how good this colt miler really is. E Zee Rider will be looking to improve on the week six debut where he ran green and will come on for the run.

A more general vibe from the stable was that they felt they were falling behind in the champion trainer battle and that perhaps defeat would have to be conceded early.

Note: New filly “Picksixtrix” who was won in week six’s pick six competition, is moving impressively on the gallops and will be running in week eight and/or nine. Bite them pigeons!

Win strike rate 30%, place strike rate 60%. (10-3-6-4)

Sams Stars Stables has gone in at the deep end this week.
We have 7 horses running, so all the staff are working all weekend, and earning their money for a change.
It really is time to see what our lot are made of

Race 2 sees Waltzing Matilda out agin.
She really is our star filly ,and we are hoping she will do well in this group 3 race.
It looks like Jack The Lad is the one to beat, and we could see a tango towards the finish.

Race 3 sees Gloria return to the track.
This will be her fourth run,and yet she is still a maiden.
We really can not work out what is going wrong. She always tries so hard, she is such a darling we really hope she can find the winning post first this time however her four rivals are not going to make this an easy task for her.

Race 4 brings Dry County out.
This is his first race, and we have got a very good jockey on him, so time will tell.It is by no means an easy task for him against 14 other hopefuls, but we are hpoing for good ground to give him a better chance.

Race 7 is another group 3 race and we have entered Party Girl
This seemed to be the best race for her as it is Ladies only, and any male species seems to send her off the rails.
We have been working on her attitude and I am pleased to report that it has improved since her last time out when she caused havoc.
We are hoping for firm / good ground on the day to get a win, but the other 2 better watch out.

Race 9 brings Bad back to the track.
We had serious words with his jockey and he has said he will try alot harder this time.
However his five rivals will make this a hard race for him.

Race 12 is the free foal race.
We are letting Captain Crash have a go at this one.
His jockey is not the greatest and really he prefers a longer distance but he is a tryer.

Race 14 keeps us at the track to the very end and Electrical Storm is making her debut
We are hoping she will do really well, and finish the day off with a bang.

It's a bumper crop of runners and riders that set forth from the Winners By Far stable this week to make the long trip to the racecourse. Only four horses can look forward to a bit of a lie-in this week, the other seven being packed into the horseboxes and sent on a road trip.

We have a few debutants this week so let's start with them. Pocket Pair gets his first run, turning out in race 4, a 1m4f maiden. This is his distance and he will be hoping the ground doesn't get too soft. This should be a good run for him in what looks like a strong field.

Next out is Gogetem, an odd-looking colt who has yet to find his best distance. He has his first outing in race 12, the free foal maiden over 1m. It's a longshot this one but he has a good jockey on board.

Also out this week is Backhandler, another of the stable's fillies. This one is a stayer who likes her ground fast or with a fair but of cut in it. She is entered in race 5, the 1m4f maiden and she looks like she is up against it. Hopefully she will learn a thing or two from this run though.

The final newcomer this week is the little star we acquired a few weeks back, Liberty. He's a lovely looking colt who loves a sprint but will go the distance as well. He's entered in race 10, the 7f maiden where the going shouldn't be an issue for him. Hopefully the expert jockey we have put on his back will be able to control this feisty little goer.

Back at the track this week are the old favourites too, namely Buck The Trend, Friend Amine, and Flying Foxtrot. Foxy is going for the Group 1 7f race after her disappointing run in the Group 2 last week. Hopefully she will be on better form this week. Buck The Trend goes in the next, the Group 3 mile. He's been stepping up the grades nicely and we think it is time for him to have a go in group company. Waltzing Matilda looks the danger in this race. Finally Friend Amine comes out for another race, having had a few weeks off. Her last race was a poor distance for her but this week she's having a crack at a 1m6 race. She's up against it though in an exceptionally strong field for a maiden race.

The Whispering Downs stable had another superb week with two winners and a second (but only to one of our own horses!). The stable is very pleased with the way the early part of the season has gone.

This week sees only 4 entries from the stable - our plan (like many others) was to run all our maidens this week in some of the longer races. We decided against this as we want to wait until everything is just right for our potential superstars.

Race 4 sees the debut appearance of Getoffanpush and Babe Magnet. Babe Magnet is bred for one distance only - this mile and a half is just what he needs and there will be no problems with the going as long as there are no extremes. He is a very well behaved horse who simply loves to race. One of our top jockeys gets the ride and we have high hopes that he can upset some of the more experienced horses in the field. Getoffanpush is aptly named. When we first got him, it took 3 lads over 2 hours to get him out of the trailer coming back from the sales! He has had plenty of schooling but his first glimpse of a racecourse doesn't fill us with confidence. We hope he can settle in such a big field but don't be surprised if he sits down in the stalls and watches the race from there!!

Race 12: We are already struggling to find a race for Beach Comber, his first 2 runs were very disappointing. His behaviour at home is improving, but as soon as he sees a starting gate, he turns round and walks the other way! He may struggle in this field where there are some promising types and he may next appear in a seller if he proves to be a handful this time round.

Race 13 sees our final debutee of the day in Buddy Kerai. Our top stable jockey is going to have to be at his very best to get Buddy into top gear. The horse runs well on all but the firmest of surfaces but he does tend to idle if pushed along to early. A well timed run could see him in the frame at the first attempt.

Good Luck to all participants this week - there looks to be some cracking races!

Due to time constraints, this weeks races may not have 'comments' against the runners until later in the week.

This is the most time consuming part of the game. I had to disable the auto comments generated by the sim as they weren't reflective enough, so have to write them all by hand.

I'm hoping to get them all done, but can't guarantee it.

Good luck and I hope to see a few of you in chat later on this arvo.

Mark.
