Season 2 Week 1 Betting

This week's feature race is the Group 2 event Prix Noailles and betting is now available on Simfair.

This is NOT a betting exchange yet, but you can choose to Back or Lay any horse in the race. The odds will automatically be adjusted according to the amount of money wagered.

All players have been credited with £100 - this is the maximum you will have to play with this week. Any winnings will be added to your Simfair account AFTER the racing and this means you cannot 'lay off'.

Example: If you lay £10 at 10.0, your liability will be £90. If you then back the horse at 12.1 for £10, you will have used all of your available funds even though you have in effect layed off the original liability.

You may 'top up' your account once a week if you fall below £100 cleared funds (ie including any liabilities. Monies taken from stable funds).

Slight problem, tried to lay Maltese Falcon and its gone in as a back. Can it be reversed?

Don't know if its a database problem, sequence of events was:


Entered lay at 2.67 @ £25 (with £50 in account)

Looks like the lays may be calculating the liability including the stake as it said I had insufficient funds.

Tried again without going back to main bet menu and came up as a back.

Just realised that as I have control over the database, it is not fair on other players if I wager on Simfair. I will therefore not be participating in the Simfair wagering.

No Sam - you just get the initial £100 free - but you can request a 'top up' from your stable funds if you drop below £100 cleared funds.

It looks very much like Ceylon Sapphire will go off as favourite for Sunday's 'Simfair' race....She opened up as big as 2.01 when the market was formed, but is now in to 1.78, and is likely to come in for more support between now and the race. Can she overcome the extra 3lbs for her Group 1 wins?

Interesting market support for Maltese Falcon, currently trading at 2.85, it's a big ask to overturn the fav.

Jack The Lad looks too big at 8.44
