Ok, everything is pretty much completed at my end….so a few Q and A's for you before I get this up and running.
Q1. How will I be notified that an owner is requesting my services?
A. The request will come via PM if you're a W2W member, if not via email.
Q2. What will the request say?
A. The request will be in the form of a memo, to you from the owner. It will ask if you wish to train a particular horse, and will also give you a set of demands from the owner that you will need to meet in order to keep in their good books. The owner may also give you a few tips about placing the horse.
Q3. Will I be required to train the horse as well as race it?
A. This depends on what level of reputation you have gained and whether the owner will trust you with training their horses. For the first few levels of this feature, you will ONLY be required to race the horses, placing them to meet the demands of the owners in the given timescales.
Q4. Will I be able to view the horses attributes?
A. Yes and No, there will be a page on the website for 'owners horses'. This will show all horses that could be potentially offered to stables. Some of the horses will have all attributes showing, some will have a few missing, and some will have none at all !!…..If you are offered a horse with attributes missing, the only way you will reveal these is by racing the horse. The horses with no attributes at all are for the very highest levels of this area of the game, and I do not foresee them coming into play until the middle of season 4 at the earliest.
Q5. How will lack of 'experience' affect the horses chances?
A. All 'owners horses' will be fully mature, with 25 Experience points. The only exception to this are the top few levels with Aga 'Sim' Khan and Godolphsim horses which will require training from scratch, with no experience points.
Q6. How many levels will there be?
A. At this stage I believe there will be between 7 and 10 levels however this is subject to change.
Q7. Will all players start from level 1?
A. No, your entry level will be based on your current Stable Reputation.
Q8. How do I know what my stable reputation is?
A. You won't it's a hidden factor.
Q9. Will the horses be added to my stable stock?
A. Not to start with, the horses will stay on the 'owners page'. And the current stable racing that horse will be shown in the 'current stable' column. This could change when people reach the highest levels and are asked to house horses for a season or more.
Q10. How can we race these horses when we have no idea of their form or grade?
A. This is a NEW angle to the game to increase the playability, and the challenge. You will be given a good idea of the form and Grade by the owner when you receive a request.
Q11. Can these 'owners horses' run in any race on the racecard? Or will there be special races set up for them?
A. The horses can race in any race, against any of the current sim horses.
Q12. Will my stable receive the Prize Money if I place or win with the horses?
A. You will receive the 'trainers' cut of the winnings, which will be 10%. (To Be Confirmed - This May change)
Q13. What types of demands will the owners request?
A. This will vary as you move through the levels, however to start with you may be asked to look after a horse for 2 or 3 weeks with the aim to get the horse placed in a minor race during this time. As you move through the levels, you may be given 2 or 3 weeks to win a Group event. Don't be surprised that the levels get more difficult as you progress. Some owners will be patient, others will demand instant results.
Q14. What happens if I fail to deliver the owners request?
A. Your stable reputation will decrease slightly, and you wont move on to the next level. Other owners will then come along with similar requests to the one you have previously failed. If you fail to meet the demands on a regular basis, you may find that you drop back a level.
IMPORTANT Q15. Will running these horses affect my limit of 2 entries per race?
A. The 2 horse rule will be amended to 3 horses per race once this area of the game is implemented.
Q16. Will my Reputation be affected if I decline owners offers?
A. Not directly, however you may have to wait longer before another offer arrives.
Q17. Will there be an option to purchase the horses in time?
A. This is not something I have considered yet, however I see no reason why the owners can't offer horses for sale in the future. I think this has been touched upon by Oldham mentioning a 'Horses For Sale' section which could be implemented into the game in the future.
Q18. Will there be an option to breed from these horses?
A. The only way you will be able to breed with the horses is a) if the owner offers it's services or b) You have purchased the horse when this feature is available.
Q19. When will this start?
A. I'm hoping to start from Week 8, with owners requesting your services during the next week or so.
I really do see this adding a complete new challenge to the game, and is one that I hope you all enjoy.
Who will be the first to have a Godolphsim horse to train?????
If you have any more Q's, feel free to add them to this thread and I'll answer them 1 by 1.
