OK, this is sooo embarassing.. how can I go to a doctor with this ? As soon as I get to bed and especially on a warm night, the toes on my left foot start to itch and it is DRIVING ME NUTS. Not the right, never in the day.. left/night. Walk round, dunk fot in cold water, tried calamine lotion - old fashioned but worked for about ten minutes..
never mind why it happens, but if anyone has a suggestion that can stop it and help me get to sleep, they will go straight to heaven (after they die of course...)

Cut your left foot off
That's a bit extreme mat Ooo

Just cut the toes off Susan...

Have a wet towel ready and remember to apply pressure

A hacksaw will suffice!

Do not use scissors, this takes too long and can result in unbearable pain! :wink

Pour out a treble whisky, dab a spot on each toe and drink the rest. Works for me every night :)

try scratching
or maybe it has something to do with what you're thinking about before you go to bed

Solutions:

1) Enjoy the NUTS

2) Use sandpaper

3) Get some anti-itch stuff from boots, the insect stuff is good, that smells of pee. Cheaper still, your pee has the same chemicals, especially a babies. So get pregnant!

4) Take an overdose of heroine, the itch will soon go.

5) Take Vegy to bed, you'll be itching to get out :laugh

Possibly athletes foot.

Surely you can go to the doctor with that, imagine that itch being somewhere else on your body! :yikes: Feet aren't embarrassing, doctors see a lot more things than that.. i should know i used to work in a hospital!

Not embarassed about feet at the doctor.. god, I`ve had babies remember, nothing embarasses you after that ..I mean it`s so trivial-sounding it would seem to be a real case of doctor-time-wasting...that`s what would be embarassing.have often thought of cutting off toes in middle of night.. but it would probably then be itching in Phantom Toes :yikes:

GP's are there for trivial things as well. If it affects the quality of your life enough to be posting about it on a bulletin-board on the internet, I'd suggest that it's also worthy of three minutes of your GP's attention (and three minutes is about all you get, these days, I'm told). It could easily be a minor fungal infection of no consequence which will nevertheless quickly respond very favourably to a few tablets, a tube of cream, or whatever's cheap for the NHS to prescribe these days!

I will not tolerate a fungal infection in this house...
you will have to have a publically acceptable disease...
Gout!

:laugh
You will have to have watched Keeping U[p Appearances to get that !

You do realise don't you Susan that if this only happens when you go to bed that you are going to have to sleep with your doctor for him to make an accurate diagnosis

This old wives tale is probably not a lot of use - just be thankful its not your belly that's itching:

If your left eye itches,
You will laugh outright,
But the left or the right,
Is very good at night,
If your elbow itch,
A strange bed fellow found,
If the bottom of your foot itch,
You’ll tread on fresh ground:
If your knee itch, you’ll kneel.
In a church, that’s a good’un,
And if your belly itch,
You’ll get a lot of pudden.

Itching feet could be a mild form of Restless Leg Syndrome so this might help:

And this one if you believe in all that homeotherapy stuff:

There are a number of cures for this;
Saddam method - Break your neck....pain goes away instantly....
Redirection method - Get some one to kick you in the balls, you soon forget about your toes.....
Useless method - Cut them off, we don't climb tress anymore....
Reverse method - Set fire to them, and they will be burning....

Hope this helps
