What a blinkin' palavar!

Got my new XdaIIi after losing my old one, loaded Mobet on, wouldn't work, "Network Failure". Checked the connections, all set up hunky dory on "programmes that should connect using the internet", logged on to the web, all luvely jubbly..

Mobet doesn't work...

"Ah, that must use a private network" says my IT bod. So I go into Connection Settings and change "Programmes that connect to a private network" seetings to My ISP, exactly the same setting as above...

Lo and behold, doesn't work, still a Network Failure.

Check with O2 that my account is still set up for mobile web, no probs there...

After much head scratching I thought "lets try to set up a new connection under private networks that is exactly the same as the one under My ISP..."

Bingo! Why wouldn't it work first time out? Its exactly the same connection?

So if anyone has trouble with a connection, save yourself a fortune in calls to O2 or whoever and e-mails to mobet, post on here and I'll try to help!

This is why I got rid of 02......crap. If you ever get one TH, make sure it's on Vodafone.

Are the data charges cheaper on Vodafone Keith?

I wouldn't know, I don't sell tariffs :doh I just pay whatever the bill is, as long as the bets are on, the bill is automatically paid for.

I think what he means is they are basically the same, but T-mobile are more expensive) although the packages you can buy may be priced differently. Usually the 1st Mb is free then its something like £2.75 / Mb.

With Vodafone you can include £3 packs in the package which give you a much lower MB rate while the package is in credit.

Fantastic investment David.

As Keith mentioned above, will pay for itself in no time.

I'm sure it will , it will certainly beat running backwards and forwards to the Internet cafe in Camden everyday, although i was offered something for the weekend the other day , but i gracefully declined maybe in my younger days!!
