Hi,
when I click on some programmes a message comes up on the bottom right saying error on page and I cannot get into the programme any further or it will not let me then right click to save as target, in particular Midi music files from some sites. It only appears to be happening since I put the service pack upgrade to V.2 on my machine a while ago.
As I stated in a previous posting some programmes I have used loads of times in the past will now not work.
Any ideas anyone?
Cheers.

First thing is to run a full virus scan. It's likely that you've downloaded something that is causing your right mouse button to misbehave. Also check that your security settings aren't set too high as that can also prevent you from downloading.
I'm surprised you say there's an error message in the right of your screen. Usually it's on the left and it means that there's a javascript error. If you double-click the icon next to the message it will open up a window that will show you where the error is ocurring on the page - that might be useful to narrow down the problem.
Many older programs might not work with XP - you can usually set the compatibility to an earlier version of Windows by right-clicking on the icon and going into the properties. This link shows you how http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/appcompat.mspx while this link is a troubleshooter http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/tips/russel1.mspx

Cheers m8,
it was in the bottom left hand corner, not the right as you so rightly said.
When I click on the error message it says:
object doesn't support this property or method.
As I said, I have used these programmes before loads of times and they worked fine, it appears to have happened since this service pack upgrade came out.
Any other ideas as to how I can fix the problem?
Cheers again.

Hi Keith,
thanks for that, still does not work.
Everything seemed to work before the service pack 2 update, it looks as though this has caused some sort of clash somewhere along the line.
Do you know if it possible to change back to service pack I to see if this solves the problem?
Cheers m8.

Could be missing a DLL (Dynamic Link Library). as the message is 'Object does not support'. i.e program has looked for some data or another sub-routine and it has not been able to load 'find' what it needs. Alternativly the replacement DLL no longer matches the programs request parameters :doh !!!!

Look in the Error Log in the Admin section and see what errors it has.
