Apart from surfing the WWW for porn :yikes: , what do you use your PC for ??????

Maybe if we list our personal experience using a computer, others may see something that they would like to do on their computer but have no idea where to start, after all that’s what the thread is all about.


Personally I find mine very useful for………….
Scanning Documents and Pictures.
Enhancing pictures.
Uploading content to my web space.
Taking control of my 83 year old Father’s PC from 300 miles away, to get him out the :butthead: he gets himself into when he clicks the wrong things.

Also I find it no use at all for.
Making Tea & Coffee
Cooking meals Etc Etc
Just for the Vegy’s out there :D

What do I use my PC for?

At work (does that count?) I use it for testing command and control software for the British Army.

At home I use it for:
- online poker
- online casinos
- online gambling in general
- record-keeping of above gambling plus production of various stats and graphs
- devising football betting systems through results analysis
- e-mail (obviously)
- general spreadsheet and VBA help and queries that arise
- miscellaneous s/sheet and VBA development activities.

If I am logged on to my PC at home (which I am almost every evening for a few hours and during most of the day at weekends) I will have Outlook, Excel, Winamp and a web browser open. Always. The amount of time I spend working in Excel is scary.

also, the missus is from canada, so we chat to her family using a webcam. it used to cost a fortune with phone calls, now it costs nothing, and we can see them aswell - this has probrally saved me the most money and has almost paid for the pc by now

- Playing Poker
- Sorting the infamous Footy Sim and running the games.
- Talking to a bunch of wallies on an internet forum :D

I don't use it to masturbate Ooo

Use my pc for all sorts of stuff, i don't think i could be without it. In fact i couldn't, when the pc repair bloke came round he said it would be easier for him to take it away to fix it but it would be gone for two days, so i said no and the poor bugger had to stay here all afternoon and struggle with it :)

Anyway, what do i use it for,
1, Playing music
2, My little gambling hobby
3, Shopping. I'm one of those rarities...I despise going shopping :yikes: No really I do. The thought of having to traipse round a load of shops all day fills me with dread. So wherever possible i do my shopping online. Easier, warmer, cheaper, less stressfull etc etc.
4, surfing the net, but not for porn :spinning I like going to all sorts of different websites, from sci fi sites to places like PPRune (aviation website), weather websites etc and of course the day wouldn't be complete without a quick scan of ebay, just to see what the most outrageous thing for sale is that day. Plus there's also usually a list of stuff people who don't like pc's want me to look up for them (by people i usually mean Mr FN)
5, My eldest daughter has just started to play the bass guitar (extrememly well i might add :hearty ) so i'm always getting stuff off the net for her to help her learn

And i probably do loads more that i can't even remember but that'l do for now.
