Normally I would go to the racing post and check the horses form. But South of the boarder came up as a 19yo horse that had last run in 22 sep 1994 :yikes:

Well the race it finished with a D in the race comments read

made all, veered left inside final furlong, soon recovered, held on all out, finished 1st, placed 2nd

and the race analysis reads

A decent pace set by SOUTH O'THE BORDER, an established front-runner who made every post a winning one, but who swerved violently to his left after the stands' rail ended and almost carried Fairmile off the track. The interference cost the runner-up more ground than he was beaten by, but the stewards let the result stand even though Fairmile still very nearly got up to win. This begs the question as to what sort of interferencea horse needs to suffer before he gets promoted. The consistent South O'The Border was racing off a 3lb higher mark than for his last win and this effort showed that he remains in fine form.
Fairmile was returning from a 322-day layoff and relished this 3f step up in trip. He was the moral winner, but even so remains unexposed and is probably capable of quite a bit more.
Stargazer Jim has been performing well over this trip since winning a maiden on the Wolverhampton Polytrack in July. Although he couldn't quite take advantage of the front pair heading off towards the enclosures, this was a creditable effort and a similar event can be found.
Chantaco was staying on nicely towards the end and has returned from his layoff in good form, while this performance also suggested he saw out this longer trip well enough.
Breathing Fire was held up out the back for much of the way, but made up a lot of late ground and can lose his maiden tag in a similar contest.
Active Asset wasridden patiently, but endured a nightmare passage up the home straight, repeatedly getting blocked in his run, and when he did eventually see daylight it was far too late. That has been the story with him on too many occasions this term.

So basically the horse Won on the day and the stewards let the result stand so the punter won on him on the day but the result was later overturned and the prize money went to the owners of Fairmile. So the Dumb stewards Dumped on the punters of Fairmile!
