Bottle of whisky!

Seriously though, it would be worth seeing your dentist in case there's any problem with it - it may be coming through at the wrong angle and impacting on another tooth, or could have a wee infection in there.

had mine taken out last year, they didn't hurt. but the dentist said it's always better to have them taken out no matter what, as they often cause problems later on.

so paracetemol and ring the dentist tommorow.

I dont envy you that gumache Rusko. Hopefully its just a bit of discomfort as it tries to breakthrough. I hate going to the dentist but I suppose the best advice is to maybe get it checked out by the dentist.

You need a new dentist Presto! My previous dentist said I needed all mine out - no idea why. I changed dentist, explained this to the new one and he said bollox - I've no problems with my wisdom teeth so there was absolutely no need to have them taken out - the first guy was just drumming up extra business...

I haven't got any :doh

When I was about 14 or 15 I had my mouth x-rayed by my dentist and he looked all concerned. Then he told me I didn't have any wisdom teeth and that was rather odd.

Needless to say I have not had any problems with them

Had all 4 out 3 days before Christmas 25 years ago. Hospital job - was black from my chin down to my gonads with bruising, face so swollen that people who knew me reasonably well didn't recognise me. Christmas dinner through a straw - literally.

Have 'em out mazzy - but do post a picture of yourself on W2W:)

The damn things are so far back in your jaw that there is always a good chance of them being impacted, if they are you'll have a hell of a job keeping them clean - the only thing you'll ever likely get between the teeth is a pubic hair:D A couple of days of misery is far better than months of it, I've no regrets about having mine out

:) try getting a dentist in preston bigC - something like 3/4 of people here cant get a NHS dentist, all the NHS ones are turning private and people are being told there nearest available ones are scarbrough :yikes: some people are even going to bulgaria etc... because its cheaper than going private. he only charged £15 a pair which was ok.

Not entirely true that they only ever cause trouble.. mine all came through without a moment`s trouble between about 18 and 21, never the slightest problem with them ever since. I wasn`t lucky with my teeth as a child and have too many fillings etc. but the wisdom ones were stars. :hearty

well atm it's still causing me grief i'm gonna wait a few more days before i decide what to do. but thanks for all the posts but ill leave going to bulgaria to get them taken out a miss cheers. id prefer to go back to my mum's home place polska land where they'll probably pay you to have them removed, aswell as a bottle of their finest vodka :D

Don`t suppose you have any private health insurance ? you could get a hospital consultant dental chap then.. they`re the best. maxillo-facial surgeon they`re called...
make sure you leave space afterwards to rest up... you`ll be fine but it can be pretty sore - i had an op on my jaw a couple of years ago - and you get powerful painkillers but they space you out so you need to lie low. Plenty of food you can get through a wide straw for a day or so...soup,smoothies, ice cream, milk shakes... you needn`t go hungry at all.
best of luck.... if they are giving you pain you need to have them done. :hearty

The one thing you can be absolutely sure of is if they hurt now, that is the best they're gonna be - but they almost certainly will get a LOT worse - don't put it off till you're desperate:)
