Does anyone know if there is a charge for depositing with pay-pal?

Betfair is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement with PayPal to allow customers to use PayPal to fund their Betfair account.

PayPal (Europe) Ltd has updated its approach to gaming and Betfair is the first service to be approved under this new policy. As a result, Betfair customers in the EU will be able to make deposits and withdrawals via PayPal. Sending funds via PayPal is quick, simple and secure.

To use PayPal or to open a PayPal account, please select the PayPal logo from within the main deposit page when logged into your Betfair account and follow the instructions provided. Should you have any questions on how to fund your Betfair account via PayPal, please do not hesitate to contact the Helpdesk.

You only pay commision on money you receive into your paypal account, it costs nothing to make a deposit

Yes, so when you with 'withdraw' from Betfair, you are 'receiving' in your Paypal account, therefore pay the commission!

Be careful with this one - PayPal recently stopped allowing the site to be used for Poker deposits/withdrawals and may decide to pull out of this arrangement at short notice.

Thanks Vegy. I'm looking to set up another betfair account for some separate banks so looking at paypal for that. I already have card and moneybookers in use and can only use moneybookers with one betfair so can't use that again. So looking at paypal or perhaps signing up with an online bank and using that to pay in.

Just looking on paypal and it says the personal account receiving funds is free? :doh It only says there is a fee on business account. Or are the limits on what you can move on the personal account so low that you need to set it up under the business one?

When I sell something on ebay, and the money is paid to me by paypal, they take a small percentage!

You need to get your Paypal account verified if you'll be transferring £1000's though.

I just funded a new account from Brazil, (specifically for my upcoming footy bets) using Western Union - it was cheaper than using my bank account in Brazil (horrific charges)....:yikes:
