I twisted my ankle 3 weeks ago and damaged the ligaments. It is still a bit swollen and i cant put full weight on it yet.Dont have full movement either in it.I dont trust the hospital that x-rayed it.So my question. Is this normal or should i go to a doctor and have it checked?

I did both my ankles playing football and couldn't walk properly for ages afterwards.

the yellow bruising is nearly gone.the purple bruising is gone on the outside of the foot but still a bit on the inside

the yellow bruising is nearly gone.the purple bruising is gone on the outside of the foot but still a bit on the insideSounds like mine. I was told to keep exercising it (moving your foot in circles etc to flex the ankle), keep the foot raised where possible and use ice packs to bring the swelling down.
I had ultrasound to break up some of the scar tissue that had formed too but my ankle still looks swollen due to much of this scar tissue remaining.
I suggest once you are able to put your full weight on it you get a wobbleboard and build up your ankle strength with it

My friend had ligament damage in his ankle and died :(
He was walking to the doctors, it gave way, and he fell under a bus!
