I want to know if there's any website builders that I vcan use when I'm offline.
I've got Network Fusion, but that seems to make me want to make a website from scratch rather than edit one I already have.
I've got Smart FTP that lets me download my html pages to a file on my PC, and upload them when finished, but doesn't seem to include a website builder / editor.
Anyone know of anything that could allow me to do my website offline, and then upload everything all in one go on a Sunday evening?

I use Microsoft's Front Page to edit offline, it's part of Office Pro. I'm sure there will be others you can use if you don't have that... this one is free - and legal!

Just use Notepad and hack the HTML in that :)

I spose I could do that, but that involves a copy and paste job Mat,
not as easy as just uploading the pages! :)

change the view to html, and paste what I have done in there, no?

I have to open up the website,
click on thre page I want to edit,
change the view to html, and paste what I have done in there, no?You have a local copy of the website on your PC I assume. If not - why not? You should have a local copy so you can trial changes on your own PC rather than trying to edit a live site. Once you are happy with the changes you upload the new files.
Anyway, open up Notepad and select Open setting the filter on file type to All Files. Navigate to your local copy of the website and bring up the file you want to change. You can now edit the HTML to your heart's content.
If you also have the same file open in a browser window you can hit F5 in that browser window to refresh the page so each time you save changes to your notepad file you can see the changes in a browser window.
It's a lo-fi way of editing and creating websites but it does mean it can be done at any PC regardless of what web tools they have installed. You just a reasonable working knowledge of HTML.
I used to use something like Front Page or Dreamweaver to put the basics of the site together, including any frames and tables. Then I'd use Notepad to hack the HTML as I found it easier and more satisfying.

I don't have a local copy, Keith's super duper HTML editor means I don't have to have one! :D

Also you should try to learn CSS. That way, the style of every page can be controlled and manipulated individually from style sheets, rather than you having to manually define every link/heading style every time something changes down the page.
So say if you have 10 headings on a page that are all ARIAL, SIZE 12, BLACK, you just have to define this ONCE in the style sheet and call the corresponding name given to that header for every time you use it on the page.
I know it sounds confusing but it isn't once you get the hang of it. :D

FYI: http://www.csszengarden.com
Look at the code and take it in, absorb it. Then, select a different design from the menu at the side and the page loads again. It appears to be different, because the images are different etc. But the code is fundamentally the same behind every design. Unleash the power of CSS. :D
