Inserting Hyperlinks

How do you 'rename' a hyperlink.

I normally just cut and paste the long address, but how do you change the outside appearance of it.

e.g. like the ones in fade sig.

Is you use the forum tags (URL)(/URL) but with square brackets you'd enter
(URL="http://website")text to display as link(/URL)
