Although I know bugger all about this game, I do know that mathematically it has the lowest edge of all the casino 'fixed' games, so it is much easier to 'get lucky'.

The only good thing I see about the game is when the skimply dressed women are shaking the dice, it causes a 'bounce' effect Ooo

I loved every minute at the Craps tables in Vegas.

Once you learn the basics, it's totally addictive, and when someone gets on a good roll, it brings the house down!!

We had one old woman roll the dice for nearly an hour without hitting a seven!!!....the house had to call for more chips to be brought to the table as we cleaned them out :laugh

We did a few hit and runs on the craps tables in the Bellagio when we were supposed to be having a nice evening in the Fontana lounge with respective other halves and family. A few of us lads just kept getting up disappearing to the craps tables and then coming back with a couple of hundred in chips each. One of the guys had never played before, didn't understand the game at all and just put his chips where we told him too. He thought it was the best game he had ever played as he just kept getting chips shovelled at him.

Me and the missus put in some seriously long craps sessions over the last couple of nights we were there too, playing for about 4 or 5 hours one session. It's tiring being on your feet all that time. At least at blackjack you get to sit down.

I also remember one session in Bally's when there were just two of us at the table. I was making pretty much minimum bets while the other bloke had wondered in from Paris (LV) and was making bets with several black chips. He was betting wrong, I was betting right. I kept making my point and throwing 7s on the come out roll. He was not impressed and started muttering a lot. Then I crapped out and he should have taken the dice off me as I was costing him thousands but he passed them back to me. So I cost him even more. Ah well. It made me a few quid and gave me a good laugh.

It's such an American game though. I have played it in a casino in London and it's all very polite and quiet. Get over to Vegas and everyone's high-fiving the stickman and running round the table whooping.

We do plenty of 'whooping' in this country Mat! Usually after 10 pints of lager & a kebab :puke

:laugh :laugh Very childish, but made me laugh!

I love the game craps, i did not have a clue how to play it when i was in vegas, but we slowly taught ourselves. Probably one of the bes t casino games.

Totally agree about the atmosphere in Vegas at the craps table mat, such a buzz!

Craps is far better than roulette in terms of house edge and entertainment.

Any fool can play roulette but to play craps you need to learn a bit about the game and that eliminates some of the riff-raff. And with a house edge of around 1% when taking free odds on the point and come bets it's about 5 times as good as roulette in terms of expectation.

I'll only ever play craps and blackjack as table games these days. Perhaps throw in a bit of slots for fun but if I am on the slots I usually look for video poker machines with the decent pay tables.
