I'm sorry about this, but I need yet more help.

One of my spreadsheets, that I use to do my ratings is not working properly.

Normally, when working out my ratings, I open the spreadsheet, enter the figures, which in turn, produce my ratings.
I normally copy and paste the ratings into a new document, then close the original spreadsheet, without saving any changes, so it is ready for use the next time.

Anyway, I must have saved the data by mistake the last time I used it, so my 'blank' spreadsheet was therefore unavailable - so I went to get my spare version of it.

The spare version of the spreadsheet wont let me paste for some reason!!

Even the little paste icon is de-pressed and unuseable. I tried right-click etc. but it simply wont paste (it will copy, but not paste)

Any Ideas?

You Locked the cells? Made the spreadsheet file read only? Neither of these seems likly.

Can you not just delete the figures you entered and saved?

Not sure why you just don't blank the data other one and then save it.

No. And the thing is, I used it before, and it was fine.

The only difference I can see is that the paste button is not useable (faded out) It is the same when I right click, the paste option is unavailable.

I done a backup on saturday, so I hope there is a working copy in there. Still has me baffled though.

yep, I tried that, and unfortunatley deleted some of the forumulas by mistake, and f*cked it up basically!!

It is not a major problem, as the backups should be fine, but It is bugging me as to why it is doing it all the same

Mat, I'm sorry about this.. but It has made a complete liar out of me, and appears to be working today. I have no idea why.

Sorry! Thanks anyway.

By the way, I'll send that other Spreadsheet you were interested in having a glance at later (It is saved on the pc in college)

Thanks

I think microsnot have buggered up filename programs and find error in unusual ways. That is if you have two different programs located in different folders on the computer BUT both programs have the same filename Windows does some strange things in this area. It may have something to do with you opening the same filename for excel from two different folders.

I am fairly sure there is a Bug in window operating system in this area.
