when i try and paste something onto word it trys to access the internet any reasons for this

Just reinstall it first, maybe a corrupt file :)

You can always use CTRL+V

well its not causing me any problems just wondered why it did this my firewall keeps telling me word is trying to access the internet

If you are cutting'n'pasting from the Internet, then it has to access the Internet to get the copy you want....where else would it get it? :)
