You may have remembered about 3 weeks ago I was sick and vomitting. Yesterday at about 12.30 I got terrible stomach cramps. By 7.00pm it was so bad I went to the hospital - I was bent over double and was running a fever althouhn no vomitting. I thought I may have appendicitis but the doc diagnosed a kidney infection. Has anyone else ever had this because its horrible. If so do you think my vomitting 3 weeks ago could be linked because I had the stomach cramps then but put that down to straining when I vomitted. Been given some antibiotics, paracetomals and told to drink absolutley tons of water.

I'd be surprised if they were linked TH as there's too big a time gap between them. Kidney infections are nasty and painful, but the combination of drugs and drinking plenty of fluids should shift it. You'll probably feel pretty wiped out for a week or 2 though. If things don't start improving in a couple of days get back to the docs - hope you do feel better soon though!

I thing I forgot to add was the NHS staff there was absolutley fantastic. Most of the staff were of an ethnic origin and there was one bloke who was giving out disgusting racist abuse saying that he wanted seeing immediatley and that the nurses and doctors were not fit to do their job and should be outside picking up dogends as that is all they are good for. It was shameful provocation and the staff were so patient and professional it made me proud of the service although ashamed of some of my fellow countrymen. I only had to wait about a hour to be seen and they supplied me with the tablets and paracetomal and were so understanding.

There's always one like that TH... the temptation to 'accidentally' give him a lethal dose of something must be difficult to resist sometimes....

The health service is only as good it is today BECAUSE of the ethnic input....can you imagine if they only employed white English....tea break...coffee break.....

That is very true... the only time I have a problem is when they hire someone who has an obvious lack of English, other than medical terms. Luckily they are few and far between.

TH you have my sympathy... when I was in labour with my elder daughter and yelling a bit the doc said 'You think you`re in pain ? You should try having a kidney stone..'.. recently one of my younger daughter`s flat mates woke in the night in agony, woke her and she drove him to the Chelsea and westminster Hosp. at 3 a.m. on a sunday morning..he was bent double in pain and vomiting and he is diabetic so has to be very careful anyway.. the place was deserted and the nurses were glad to have someone to look after who wasn`t drunk or abusive.. 2 doctors looked after him, kept him in, gave him painkillers, did lots of tests - sure enough, kidney stone..nurse even made tea for Clemency ! She said they were absolutely smashing..he is fine now but said he did not know such pain existed..
won`t bother with the prayer list as you`re on everybody else`s apparently :hearty

im over the worse of it Andy, managing to eat now so that should speed up my return to normal. The main thing I have now is a quesey stomach - probably due to hardly eating anything in recent days - and, like Big C said earlier in the thread, a feeling of been absolutley wiped out.
I read somewhere that Cranberry juice is good for this kind of complaint so have been drinking lots of that, just hope its not an old wives tale because I can't stand the stuff!

cheers mate. Im alright im probably at 80% now which aint bad considering how I felt Friday night. With the Easter break coming up I should have plenty of time during that period to eat plenty to make up for missing out during this period.

Cranberry juice is good stuff ...TH....will sure help - I think.......:yikes:
But when yer well again.....a thank you to both Silax and me, wouldnt be out of order you know!
Please dont listen to the facetious comments about our prayers.....their well meant and our God is as good as their God....John Milton was wrong, he was no fallen angel...on the contrary......and if them christians argue with me, I will stick my pitchfork right up their ass......

Both of your prayers certainly made me feel a lot better Merl so maybe your fella is doing the business. Hope you did not have to do too much in exchange for his help - If you are not careful, before you know it, he will have you into all sorts of bad things like chasing loose women, drinking, gambling and sometimes doing some or all of these on a Sunday as if doing them on the other days wasn't penance enough!:yikes:
If that is the case I won't forget the sacrifices you and Silax made for me!:wink
