Hi everyone, I'm sure this has been posted before but if I want to change the libility on a lay bet which I want to be a constant how do you go about doing that please, I want my liability to be just £5 which means that I would be below the £2 mimimun on betfair.

it's very tricky to get a £5 liability.
betfair won't let you do it if it is under £2 so you have to use the old <£2 method:
lay £2 @ 1.01
change stake to £3
cancle £2 bet
you now have a £1 lay @ 1.01
change the 1.01 to required odd's
to get a £5 liability you will have to find out what the £5 liability is before changing stake. i,e:
11 shot we are laying
50p = £5 liability
lay £2 @ 1.01
change stake to £2.5
cancle £2 bet
you now have a 50p lay @ 1.01
change the 1.01 to required odd's (11)
you now have a 50p lay @ 11 = £5 liability
...................................................................
not worth the effort IMO - especially when the odd's are awkward* 8.4 for example - then you will have to fiddle for a bit to get the stake right for a £5 liability.
it's probably better to use £2 stakes
ok the liability is more but it's simple.
or you could use £1 stakes - fiddely, but much easier than using a low liability.

Ok thanks, point taken it's a lot of hassle so just go for the £2 stake, thanks for that presto. happy racing for today.

If you do a lot of less than £2 on betfair they eventually tell you to stop or be suspended.

Hi marcus, Im not sure if they really follow this up anymore. I have done a few thousand bets under the minimum and I have not heard from them. They now allow bots to do it all the time when 'greening up' so I don't think it is as big an issue as it once was. Then again, I could be wrong, so be careful.
