MSN Messenger..

...when I turn on my pc , MSN automatically appears . I close it down , yet people can still see I am on line.

I worjed out I have 2 versions of this running..when I go to add/remove to delete it , I can't because I have a version running..the one I can't see...ideally I would like to delete them both...

As ever any assistance would be appreciated .

Have you tried shutting it down in Task Manager mate?:)

Actually I have this problem too. I have the latest MSN messenger but the one that was pre loaded on the laptop often runs in the background...I want it gone dammit!

Where is the Task Manager Sparky ?...I don't know much about pcs..sorry.

Press Ctrl - Alt - Delete at the same time and it should launch task manager.

If you go to processes Lars find msnmsngr.exe or msnmsgs.exe and end them. If you want to stop messenger from launcing on start up go to START>RUN>and MSCONFIG>Go to the start up tab and uncheck msnmessenger....it won't launch on start up then.
