View Full Version : iPod question
Hi folks
I've been browsing the iPod listings on eBay and have noticed some of the memory for the Nano is labelled FLASH ONLY and some is labelled HARD DRIVE ONLY.
What is the difference, if any?
Thanks. :D

Hi John,
Flash memory has no moving parts. It is also more expensive. The iPod Nano and Shuffle have Flash memory I think, which means you can shake the life out of them, and the music won't skip a beat.
However, with the Hard Drive type iPod, you can get up to 60GB of storage.
Personally I have a 20GB iPod, and it has never skipped anyway... but I don't doa lot of jogging.
In theory I think the flash memory ones should last longer too... due to lack of moving parts.
Hope that helps
Hi Sandman
