I'm sure some of you are aware of this already.

It really is an amazing website. I have used it loads of times this year, especially coming up to exams. Great for when you are unsure of a date, event, or term etc. It also has a fair bit about horse racing by the way.
Unlike encyclopedia britannica, it is completely free.
Well worth looking up if you need some informaition quickly:

A magazine did a bit of a survey on the online encyclopaedias a while back - basically you get what you pay for. Wikipedia was recommended, but only because it was free. Of the various different searches they used in the survey, Wikipedia had more mistakes, and more bits missing than the others. Still, it is a very useful site and I do use it regularly... it's dead easy to just get completely lost in it and next thing you know you've spent 4 hours just browsing around the place!

I think over time it can only keep getting better and better as more content is added and more knowledgable people get involved in sorting out any possible mistakes in there. As a free resource you can't beat it. :)

China are great, they started the 3 dams project in '92 to supply 10% of the required power, but after the latest increase in industry, it will now only supply 3% :laugh

It was also built to stop houses flooding, so in order to build the damn they had to move a few million people while they flooded there homes :doh Go figure!

There are also several dozen dams planned for the Yangtze.... to 'assist' this one and provide more power. Apparently the lake behind the great dam is already badly polluted.

One note of caution Wayne (I'm always offering you notes of caution aren't I :D)

A lot of the articles are added by members of the public so it's not always the most reliable.

Well, I find it most accurate in all due respect Fade!

I looked for Win2Win and it said thus:

"An organisation run by the highly intelliegtn and charismatic figure called Vegyjones. This wonderful individual answers all questions correctly and takes part in the most simulating debates! A worthy human being of the highest order!"

Sounds accurate enough to me! :D

Yeah, I've often noticed that an article has been 'disputed' by another contributor. Especially some of the political ones.

haha...all work and no play make Wayne a dull boy....

Must admit though it is a fairly handy resource. If Darren Skelton is not on it by the end of this decade then my life has been a failure!
