Retrieving deleted files

I delted a folder that was in a disk key. Is there any way at all of getting it back? It is not in the recycle bin :(

I really hope it is not lost, as it contained a lot of good music

Recycle bins work only on the drive they are on. So anything deleted from C would go to the C drive recycle bin, but anything deleted from drive D would not be in the same recycle bin, it would be in D's recycle bin.

I don't think removable media such as USB flash drives are set up to have a recycle bin. But presumably you wrote the data to the disk key from a HDD so do you now have it backed up anywhere?

Nope. Looks like it's gone. It is actually my mp3 player that I had plugged in. I was moving some folders and songs around and deleted a folder by mistake... Don't have any backups. I presume the mp3 plug-in does not have any sort of recycle bin?

Search Google for free (or demo) recovery software, they are still there (the files) you've just removed the reference to them. Whatever you do, don't save anything in the same area.

I no longer buy Canon since they quadruppled the ink prices, I stick to Brother now.

Got a nice portable HP 460 in Singapore, and my old BJC85 was on it's way out after 5 years. The HP is an excellent printer, especially as it's wireless and the battery goes for hours. It also uses full size cartridges, instead of the dinky canon ones.
