Taken for a Ride - Betting Coups and Scandals
An on-course layer that lives down the road from me wrote this book. Although I have only read about a quater of it, It is thouroughly entertaining, informative and enjoyable. It gives a great insight into laying, and the whole racing scene in general. If you thought the latest fuss with the BHB and Fallon etc. was a new thing, think again. There are plenty of stories about gambling, scams and racing in general from years ago up til today. Although he is Irish based, he covers a lot of the UK stories also. From what I've read, it seems to be a great book:
