The yanks throwing another tantrum :doh All this will do is force the likes of Europe to set up there own leagues/events, and eventually things like the WSOP will be in house American while the rest of the world moves on.

But what a wonderful example of true democracy  - a bill that would be voted out immediately under normal circumstances is made law because it is accepted practice to attach it to some totally unrelated bill which is almost certain to be passed. :doh

Maybe Jack Straw could follow the example and get his bigotted 'no veil' views made law by attaching it to something which makes it illegal to leave a child locked in a car in the middle of summer ;fire

The poker rooms have hit back saying they will withdraw from the US market - what's that all about? The new law puts the onus on the banks to refuse the transactions, it makes absolutely no difference to where the poker room servers are based :splapme

I fully expect poker will be made a 'sport' where sponsorships will provide the prizemoney (and also the list of players taking part); thus removing it from the world of 'gambling'. It will not matter one iota that the rest of the world simply will continue playing the game - the US will simply declare whichever event they can gain exclusive rights to as the 'official' World Championships (whether people from other nations are invited or not!!). :ermmm
