yep, I've played it on and off since I was at school, it's a great game, bit of luck, bit of skill, great fun!

I play against the wife quite a lot. She plays a very traditional, safety first game whereas I play a radical attack, attack, attack game. She wins 2 out of 3 by a few counters but I often gammon her.

Its a game to play once you've blown your poker bank. Unlucky Presto.......we'll never get to play :D
I'm a fairly solid checkers/draughts player if anyone wants a beating some time. :)

not too sure about playing for cash online, as it is a completely mathmatical game, so with optimum moves for every roll - i don't reckon it would be too hard (well for a programmer) to put together a 100% efficient gammon bot. it's a shame though that the MS games players have very little curtosy when playing - only had 2 games against real opposition but both disconected when things turned against them
i think with 10c - $2 tournies the poker banks safe worky :)
- but i always like to be 'jack of all games' :wink . you never know when somebody may offer you a game 'for cash' :wink (the 3 card brag game at work didn't know what hit them :laugh :laugh :laugh ).

Must have remembered how to play a bit better than I thought...:D ...entered a $50 Freeroll on Laddies toinght with 128 players playing in knockout rounds and only the first two places paid out. Managed to get to the final before losing but won $12.50 on my second night of online backgammon...:wiggle: ...and I am enjoying playing the game again - used to play all the time with my brother when we were at home.
