Sick

Here I am on a Thursday afternoon logged on to W2W, following two days off sick and, having returned to work today, returning home at midday after telling the people at work that I'm "still not right". Thing is, I'm not exactly knocked out - I have a heavy cold but not outright flu and can still function albeit with a bit more effort than is usually required. So, two questions:

Does that make me gay?
What does everyone else here do? Do you throw a sickie at the first sign of snot, or do you manfully (or womanfully) tough it out and impress everyone by struggling on (whilst unselfishly sharing your filthy germs with them)?I already know your answer Keith (Mr 24/7) :D

i usually tough it out, i find that if your mind is on something else (work) you don't notice that your sick that much.

I usually tough it out where I can as having time off for a sniffle etc seems like a right wimpish thing to do. I also feel that taking too much time off sick for trivial things means work are less likely to be so understanding when you're properly incapacitated. A sort of 'cry wolf' syndrome if you like.

You feel awful so you've done the right thing in taking the afternoon off - at least you made the attempt to go back to work rather than bottling out completely, so hats off to ya.

I woke up in the night shaking uncontrollably with a temperature. Was sick this morning, first time I've been sick since... well, I can't even remember... 10 years? Attended my project meeting with my supervisor at 2pm feeling awful... I'd have cancelled it but this was a rearranged meeting as I couldn't make Tuesday, so I went. Thought I was gonna feint when I came home.

Anyway Gaz, hope you and I get better soon. Take tomorrow off if you're still feeling like crap - I'll do the same - and we can be gay together. :laugh

Well, thanks for the offer mate but after Keith's comment above I'm thinking of trying my hand at being a lezzer. I'll let you know how it goes :D
