havn't played a cash game in ages, must admit i prefer tournies but i thaught i would give the ring games a go. cash games i am a little tighter than usual :wink so just started off in a 2/4c game so i wasn't risking much ($8) whilst i got back into the swing.

first hand AA in the big blind :laugh
a couple of callers for 4c - so i upped it with a 32c raise,
someone raises all in for around $4 - i call :)
he shows J-3o :D
flop J33 ::swear

2nd hand fold

3rd hand - AA again
much like the first hand but i raised 64c
then another fish raises me all in ($2) i call
he shows Q4s
flops a :censored: flush

only played for 30mins - but also got outdrawn (all ins on the flop) with a straight twice - by a flush on the turn / river and a raggy river full house.

never have i seen so many outdraws in such a short time.

then i got a bit pissed off that these fish - they really had no idea, were doing me over - so just out played them with aggressive poker, thank :censored: they have no idea of pot odd's. got back to $7 by the end so only lost $1.

upped it to 25/50c and bought in for $50 - cashed out for $102 after a couple of hours. much better game this - no stupid players - no massive outdraws.
strange as i had QQ 5 times and 33 4 times and no other pairs :doh

when i was younger (with more balls than brains) i once played a $20/40 game cash game :yikes: and came out on top :woohoo: - poker claim to fame, doubling up from 'Erik Sagström' - this was ages ago before he was known.

back to the realistic 10/25c cash game tonight - won $3.30 - just enough to enter a 9 seater STT speed - came 3rd for a $5.40 profit on the night.

just thinking about it now feels really strange :doh back when i was a total novice i was playing $20/40 with the best online poker player in the world, and now i make a living from gambling i play for peanuts

going into the 2nd break 96th out of 360 with 31.666 chips.
it pays upto 300 - so going to continue playing tight till then, then up it and go for the win :)

Daniel Negreanu says that you shouldn't play tight!

He says that you should dominate others with the same thoughts as you!

He says you should have like a first or nowhere mentality!

but he's got millions to play with, beating the bubble matters more to me.

I had a go in one of their freerolls yesterday too....finished up in the 80's. Was actually chip leader for a while but that was scuppered as my QJ call made a straight on 4th street when an A appeared. Flop was 7KT. Unfortunately my oppo at the table was holding AK and, of course, another A just happed to appear on the river to give him a full house.

And I've been getting cheesed off with AK especially suited. Must've had them a dozen times now, raised every time, and still finished up with an Ace high hand. Pretty sickening when the next best hand consistently loses to someone who flops a winning hand with a small pair. It's getting to the stage where I'm seriously considering folding next time they get dealt to me.

Anyway, I've decided that you're all doomed tonight :D

the old saying of - looks much better than it plays is correct.

So what did you say to annoy her then?

As for AK, I think Presto's right...might just call in future and see how things pan out that way.

well i have just spunked $100 away on the .50/1 cash table. a tale of 3 hand's really.

first hand of the game
i had 2 overcards and a SF draw - my aggressive opponent moves all in, i figure i am a fav, and the pot odd's say call - i call and spunk the first $50

buy in for another $50 - and soon get to $120

next big hand - hit trip 5's - get it all in for a very big pot, opponent rivers a flush ;fire (leaving me with very few chips)

play my way upto $90 again, hit the nut flush, though my opponent hit's a raggy FH on the river - so near down and out.

spunked the last $10 on a AQ - up against AK

so all in all a miserable day :(

:D - 2nd wasn't bad, besides i think we were all playing for 2nd after you glos.
been trying out a few different playing styles in the w2w games recently, to improve my game, and not rely on the 'gus hanson' maniac style.

in the b365 freeroll starting soon, same tactics as last time - play super aggressive early on, chill out a bit till the bubble passes - then all out maniac again.

or more likely go out after 5 hands :)

Same kinda thing here...had a straight in both games...both times they hit a flush on the river. Usual story as well - opponents going all-in with a ten or nine high.
