View Full Version : No sound in browser

Some time around yesterday afternoon I lost the sound in my browser (Avant, which uses the IE engine). Now I can't listen to the radio at work (not that that has stopped me having me headphones in anyway) and it is driving me mad. I need music.
Any ideas?
This morning I have downloaded Windows Media Player 9 and installed the latest Java updates as suggested by the Virgin Radio help site (whose player I use) but still nothing.
The player is playing and all the volume settings on my PC are cranked up.

Have you tried cleaning out your ears?

Are you getting ANY sound?
If not, check your Sound options in the Control Panel. It's unusual for both speakers to be broken, so doubt it's physical.

A new driver and a couple of reboots seems to have helped. Only getting sound of my my right earphone though so I need to test those on another PC to see if the left one works. But some sound is better than none

Try a System Restore to when it was working!I can't be 100% sure when it was working. I think it was yesterday sometime. And I'm not sure system restore is set up on this PC
