Whitesnake with the original guitarists and bass player.... I find that one hard to believe, as far as I was aware there was simply no love lost between Coverdale and those 3... so either this is the festival organisers telling porkies or they've patched things up... if it is true expect a stampede of old fans wanting tickets!

The Jam without paul weller is just like The Kinks without Ray Davies :anger Remember back in the eighties meeting Hazel O'Connor in Bristol when she was at her best with songs such as 8th day and the one with the line "Will you just politely say goodnight" (can't remember the title sam :doh ). She can actually sing so would imagine that she will be quite good at the festival. The UK Subs doing an acoustic set :yikes: I have a couple of theirs in my collection Stranglehold & Warhead which are both on 45. They could probably get by without Charlie Harper as their songs are so easy even Campbell could come out of retirement and perform them :D

Weller hasn't spoken to Rick since 1983, he just wont.
Rick formed the band The Gift and the lead singer is excellent, now Bruce has joined Rick and they are once again The Jam.
Hazel O Connor is superb, the song is called Will You.
Stevie Ze is now in a band called ze suicide or something, at least an acoustic set may be quieter :laugh

In that case they better beware because Coverdale owns the name outright, and for the promoters to be calling it Whitesnake could see them in a lot of legal trouble...

Who said I was retired.... I'm 'between gigs' :laugh I also wonder just how many of the Animals will be there as Eric Burdon has been pluggin away on his own in the States for most of the last 35 years and hasn't spoken to the rest since the last reformation of the band in the early 80's... and Chas Chandler is dead... at least Jethro Tull should be the real thing as they're actually doing an acoustic tour soon anyway.

Coverdale could be there, I'm just guessing that he's not as he himself isn't mentioned, and the festie is mainly about bringing old members of bands out of the woodwork, i.e Midge Ure is there solo not as Ultravox, Eric Faulkner is there solo not as Bay City Rollers etc.
There are also original sets there as well, Hazel O connor is Hazel O Connor :laugh
The animals were there last year plus friends there are photos here if you recognise them, http://www.acousticfestival.co.uk/2006FestivalPhotos/TheAnimalsFriends/index.html
you can enlarge the pictures but I have no idea what any of them look like so I can't tell who is who :doh
