i was wondering if anybody knows ive been sent a xls file but i dont have xcel.ive downloaded a excel viewer but cant edit it does anybody know if theres a way round this

ive downloaded a excel viewer but cant edit it does anybody know if theres a way round thisYou've downloaded a viewer - it's used to view things, not edit them. You'll need either Excel or something that can open and edit Excel files, such as Open Office

There is a cheap alternative to MS Office which supports the same file formats called 602PC Suite (google it) and allows a 30-day trial. You probably won't get one that imports MS stuff for less but it might be worth searching.

If OpenOffice supports MS files, just use that: www.openoffice.org

It does, not sure about the new doc format though, haven't tested that yet.
