View Full Version : The wonders of new technology

I have recently switched from getting to and from work by bus to going by train (Flash harry, I now :D )
Anyway, this means that I no longer have access to my favourite radio show on the journey to work :(

Now, this is where the computer bit comes in.

With a tape machine, I can record the show in the morning and listen to it the next day on the train with a walkman.

I assumed that I would be able to download the show on my pc and put it on my mp3 player in this day and age of super human technology.

However, apparently (or as far as I can work out), that isn't possible.

But surel;y there must be some way of recording the show using wmp rather than having to use a tape cassette!

The show I listen to (Chris Moyles) only do one 30 minute podcast per week!

Not enough to keep me amused for a whole week.
And they don't have any of the music they play on the poodcast!

With a tape machine, ....

Unfortunately, they did away with the Steam powered trains and you may find it difficult to find an alternative power source. I heard there was some new fangled idea called lectric or something like that but it'll never catch on :laugh

They don't have underground trains in Surrey!Nope, we are all nicely spread out in big houses with gardens :D

You could always learn to read and get a newspaper instead of listening to crap DJs

Doesn't the radio station cache the programs for later listening? I think the Beeb do, so that the folk in the rest of World can listen to all the programs we pay for at no charge ;fire

If they broadcast it on the web Vegy then you can just record the stream and put it onto your MP3 player.

How do I record the stream. I tried right click and save, but that just saved it in a way that when you tried to open it, it just searched for the link over the internet, which is no good for an mp3 player!

I know it's available for seven days, but I want it on my mp3 to listen to while travelling as opposed to listening when i get home!

Getting it on my mp3 is the problem i'm having!

WM Recorder 11 looks like it will do the job. Becareful if you try and download it from a p2p as all the ones on Morpheus look like they're are Virus's as they're in the .exe format.
