Only small stakes but I'm quite pleased as I think I'm definitely improving my game now. It was 30 players on 3 tables and I came first.
The other thing I've been trying recently are the 'steps' on partypoker. Find it very difficult to get past step 4 though. Seems that as well as the skill, you also need an element of luck to consistently take you through the number of hands of play required to reach the money level. There always comes a point where my chips are committed as I have the best hand at the time and then I get outdrawn on the river even though the pot odds were not in favour of my opponent.

Well done Darcy.
Was this a scheduled MTT or a multi-table SnG?
The best I have done in a scheduled MTT is 8th in a $1 rebuy on Ladbrokes.
Not played the steps on Party but I have tried the Ladders on Ladbrokes, which is the same principle. Not played them much though, played maybe 3 or 4 times at the first level and got one buy-in token for the second level that I haven't used yet. I can see the attraction of them but I'd rather play SnGs for cash than the chance to win entry into a bigger tourney at this stage of my poker career

It was a multi-table SnG. I also played a scheduled MTT a while back. Very low buy in, I think something like $2 and there were around 1200 entrants from what I can recall. I came 16th in that and won a small amount but really should have done better. I had a massive stack but as the tourney had been going for almost 2 hours I made the mistake of browsing the internet at the same time whilst I was waiting for my turn to act.
As I was about to click on a link, it became my turn to act and my cursor just happened to be over the 'call' button as the poker page came to the front. I hit call and realised I'd called half my stack to an all-in'er!!! I actually hit top pair on the flop so I almost fluked a big pot, but then he got me with a higher pair on the river. I've learned from my mistake and will not be browsing the internet during game play again :)
