At one of our smaller offices down the road we have a little network of 6 pc's.
Nothing fancy, netgear broadband router with two pc's plugged directly into it and a line coming down from the first floor which connects the router to a netgear 8 port switch. 4 pc's plugged into the switch.
One of the PC's downstairs acts as the server, holds a couple of access databases and some letter templates that sort of thing.
Now......yesterday I got a request to move one of the downstairs PC's into the office upstairs, just leaving the server pc in the reception area. Simple enough task, just move it all up and plug the machine into the switch.
Everything works, internet, shared files except it wont let the user open the access databases, it says something along the lines of
'microsoft access can not open this file as it is located outside your intranet or on an untrusted site. To use please copy the file to your local machine or to a network place'
Created a new network place with the files in, that didnt work. Re-ran network wizard jobby, that didnt work.
