Do Excel spreadsheets stop working ?

I have just been trying to update todays results on my spreadsheets and the wierdest thing has happened. All of my formulas seem to have stopped..... well, being formulas :doh. I input data into one cell and the formulas dont produce data in another cell. I check the cells individually and the formulas show correctly but nothing is happening. They were all OK last night when i did yesterdays results

Any ideas what has happened chaps ? Its Excel 2003

Twilight zone I think......I close the file and as I say yes to save updated file, all the calculations are performed and the cells completed....:ooo

Fiver minutes after my last post the screen just turned itself off, the laptop was still on, the battery and hard disk lights still lit but nothing on the screen

I think my laptop maybe heading to the laptop resting place in the clouds
