If you have more than one drive, split the page file over 2 of them, and set them on 'Let OS decide size'.
This will help free up more memory, especially on Vista who tries to preempt what you will load next, and bungs it in the memory, even if you don't end up using it. This ended up being the solution to Dreamweaver hogging 100% X 2 on a dual core, and it now hogs less than 50% on both.
To change the Pagefile.
Control Panel>System>Advanced tab>Performace button>Advanced>Change
Then just click on the disks you want the pagefile spread over, and select "System Managed Size".
You can spread it over more than two.
You then need to reboot for it to work.
