I have a NEC 3540A DVD/RW installed on my system. Its used for burning cds, dvds and as a backup to the main dvd playing drive. It has worked perfectly well with no problems in the past up until today when it will no longer read any disc be it blank, burned or shop bought.

Any help will be really appreciated

They aren't really built to last these days, you can get super-duper ones for £25.
