Right, so I have two desktop PCs in the house normally.
1 - wired into a WAP/router that is then connected to the cable modem
2 - on a wireless network card that uses the router/WAP for networking and internet access.
That's fine and I have had file sharing and all sorts working on that network. Hurrah.
This weekend I have brought my laptop home from work as I needed some extra processing power for some stuff I am working on. I have enabled WiFi on the laptop and it can see the internet OK. Good so far.
I want to share files between Desktop 1 and the laptop but I can't for some reason. I have shared folders on Desktop 1 but the laptop can't see them for some reason. When I click on My Network Places it just brings up all the shortcuts for the corporate network, which it obviously can't see.
I can ping the laptop from Desktop 1 but can't ping Desktop 1 from the laptop.
How can I get the laptop to be a proper part of my home network and get file sharing working between all PCs? :helper
