Best of all is it's the original line up back together... good band and worth catching live.

I used to really like them had a few of their albums but I don't know if they are the same now or not, not heard them for a few years.

The early stuff is really good and the most recent album is supposed to be a return to that sort of style, all the inbetween albums vary from iffy to brilliant depending on who was in the band at the time.

I might remember a song or two if I heard it, but have no recollection of any band called Asia. What sort of music did they play?

Rock, they were around in the 80's/ 90's along the lines of Kiss etc but quieter.

Sort of commercial prog rock... think somewhere along the lines of the radio friendly stuff Yes did in the 80's, lots of catchy tunes, plenty of keyboards as well as guitars.

Kiss were the ones with the painted faces - I had alot of their 12" Vinyl with their faces on the front, Asia were softer, apart from Beth from Kiss which was excellent

Just read the Wikipedia entry. It says they were formed as a supergroup. :doh
Surely you have to earn that title / label.:D
Or would that be a retrospective view.

Kiss, are they the ones Robbie Wiiams was imitating in one of his early videos?

I would have never called them a super group, they were good but what makes a supergroup, to me someone like U2 or Bon Jovi ,around for years with millions of record sales, Europe were good and Joey was sooooo cute but that don't make em a supergroup

Kiss, are they the ones Robbie Wiiams was imitating in one of his early videos?
I think he did yes, but not 100% not such a big Robbie fan, but that has triggered something in my brain.

I'd say they earned that tag immediately by way of who was in the band...
Carl Palmer of ELP
John Wetton, ex Roxy Music, King Crimson, Uriah Heep, Wishbone Ash
Steve Howe of Yes
and Geoff Downes of Yes and erm.... Buggles.
4 top musicians and a superb voice in John Wetton... as for categorising them Sam... I'd stick with prog rock... as that's where there roots were, and their appeal has always been to that fan base.
