what is the difference in signing up for these services that charge money compared to the ones that dont. its hard to explain what i mean without naming them and im not sure if i can.
but from my brief time on the web i have found great facilities at free sites (particularly the one you just donate a few pound to)
what am i missing out on compared to if i went to one of these £70 a month jobs??
ill happily pay if its worthwhile but its still just a research facility surely? but from what i can see they actually offer less
so to make my point clearer, im asking who signs up for these large subscription fee sites and what do they get that cant be found a lot cheaper or free elsewhere

Are you talking horse services? If so, I won't answer to remain unbiased :)

There are plenty of free sites around. Most will also have subscription services or other things you pay for. What's the difference? On this site, there is no difference - you just get more information and more system selections if you sign up as a paying member.
Quite often, you will see 'Premium' services on some sites - they will often charge large amounts of cash for these but at the end of the day, it is one person picking horses and letting you know what the horse is...and as any punter knows, most tipsters will have 'good days' and 'bad days'. The secret is to find a site that has more good ones than bad and can show gradual profits over a long period. If the site quotes 'silly money' profits (eg £20,000 profit this month alone!), you probably should be quite wary - to make that sort of money, you are probably expected to bet around £5000 per selection!
If all you are looking for is 'tips', the Racing Post website is as good as any and there are quite a few sites which will provide free selections. If you want to learn what to do with the information you are given, how to survive those lean spells and how to manage your betting banks, you've found a good place to start.

I get an email from a tipster whose only claim is to average 10 points profit per week from backs, lays and EW.
For example today his EW was Earth Crystal which won at 10.5 and another winner was Lough Derg at 7.2.
In the 17 weeks I have been using his tips my lowest profit week was 6.5 points and the best was 23 points. It's not get rich quick and it's not overnight success but it is steady and consistent and most importantly it's free.
