Festival News from my own point of view. A horse called Beau Micheal will go for a hurdle at cheltenham, possibly a handicap....a few horses recently (including the first winner at gowran today) have done wonders for the form.
I think the ground everywhere is starting to dry out...Lot of commentators and jockeys commenting that the ground wasn't as bad as expected.
Kicking King ran a cracker on his comeback today but the run has to be put in perspective...he was receiving weight and running against two rivals whose form is beginning to regress. As I've said before, Ireland have no chase candidates this year. His price has shortened to 16-1 but won't trouble Kauto and Denman come March.
Ingles Drever runs at the weekend to cement his world hurdle credentials. Our Vic new fav for Britain's big race....Our Vic would win if on one of his going days....maybe we should trust that the whole yard is flying so is worth a bet.
John Joe's hard is not to be touched....out of form completely.
Noel Meade's yard is similar...seems to be a cough in the yard....however there are still good vibes for Aimatov in the AIG Champion hurdle on Sunday. I wouldn't have been in favour of running the reigning champ Hardy Eustace and instead would have sent him straight to Chelt...on the likely ground it's very easy to make a case for Sizing Europe who beat Osana on soft ground (Osana then went on to beat Katchit, Straw Bear and co at Cheltenham in the Boyles Sports Meeting). The Al Eile camp are confident but they don't want the ground too soft. For me Sizing Europe could be the safest option but I'd be waiting for some yard info on the day.
My old flower, Aux Le bahnn ran over hurdles for the first time this week, it was a great ride in which he travelled and jumped well...just tired in the final 2 furlongs...I'd expect him to win next time out...just hope it's in the next 2 weeks.
Pipes hurdle contender from last year Pauillac ran over fences today and was very keen, jumped out to his right and tired quickly. hard to know what to make of it really.
Most exciting horse in the last few weeks for me has been Hold Em who translated very good bumper form into exceptional hurdling...look out for him in the future.
On the all weather scene the form book continues to blow around the room, occasionally landing on the window sill, occasionally going out the window. There has been a few Mark Prescott things tailing off at their wrong trips so look out for him pulling off a few punts in the next month or so.
Can't think of anything else for now.

Weather is a bit better now so hopefully no racing will get called off over the weekend.
Hopefully we can now get some drier weather as the NH season really gets into top gear.

Cheers chaps.
Would never have noticed the Kicking King run......and the dreaded cough :( Wrong time of year for many yards as usual.
Now we start to see some of the Festival fancies drop out for various reasons, happens every year.
And Sir Mark....still not on the handicappers Xmas list :laugh He should start banging in a few AW winners from next month, rated 30, hacking up against those rated 60+
I'm off to have fried eggs on toast, boy I've missed the unhealthy breakfast.......they have scrambled egg with cheese & ham every day in the hotels.....I HATE IT!!!

Well my safest option won the race but I was led away by the "info" I was given. I'd say Timmy Murphy feels like a prat now.

Still he could've put a possible champion hurdle winning ride in jeopardy

Until I know the going on the day of the race, I'm not even interested in the races from a betting perspective these days. Weather forecasts in Arizona may be boring, but at least they know the going is Firm for at least 345 days a year :)
