Why do they always make watches water resistant to so and so depth?

I can't envisage a moment when I'd need to know the time two foot under water at the local pool so I woudn't leave my watch on!

I can't envisage a moment when I'd need to know the time two foot under water at the local pool so I woudn't leave my watch on!

Allegedly mine is good to 500 metres, so if I drown in the middle of the Atlantic, anyone who finds me will know at exactly what time and date my decomposing, semi-eaten body finally sank.... :D

i just want a bracelet that is compatible and of areasonable quality it has a leather breitling strap with it but its wearing through and i want it to be secure, i'll have to look in to it but am hoping most bracelets would fit cheers SC
