Up until the last few months I always, and I mean always, used to think making money from the NH was easier than making it from flat racing.

Nowadays its the reverse for me. If i choose an short fav on the NH you can be sure it will lose. I had just ONE winner at Cheltenham, thats by far the worst i have ever done. At the same time though I seem to be able to get more winners on the flat.

I really do prefer NH betting as I like high strike rate betting and normally thats where i get the higher strike rate. Its just not happening for me though and im finding myself looking more at the flat nowadays to compensate/ I never thought that would happen. Im notoriously bad at making money on the flat but so far this year thats where im winning.

Funny you should say that TH as I've had the opposite really. I always considered myself a flat man, but a disastrous 2007 on the flat really had me questioning myself. The 06/07 NH season just before this was cracking for me, even though it's not my preferred code.

I had a moderate 07/08 NH season, and have done well in the past two weeks of the new flat season. I'm hoping that last years flat was a blip for me. In the grand scheme of things, we are sure to have a bad season or two over the space of say ten years.

strange aint it?

Its not system betting im bothered about because as you say you get blips and the like and systems should see you ok with the right staking.

Its my ability to pick method bets on the NH that concerns me. Its not a finaniacal concern as I only do method bets for my own enjoyment and fun but I have never had such a drought on the NH before. For me to be looking at all weather bets during the NH season was unheard of but that was what I ended up doing over the past few weeks.

I wouldn't worry TH, same for most people this year for some reason. I'll have to wait for the next results update on RSB in a couple of months to see what the problem is, until then, I'll just keep plodding on.

Good to see the AW form settling down now though after 2-3 years of meddling by the authorities.
