Although the accoustics are pretty crap in the Manchester Apollo, Nightwish still impressed. The new singer belting out the new songs with ease, and covering the older songs extremely well, putting her own style to them.

The style of music by this band is fantastic live, and no one there could figure out why it was only £15 a ticket, worth double that at least, and I doubt anyone would have complained.

No idea why they played the Apollo, and not the MEN, as in Berlin they sold out a place as big as the NEC.

Some stupid bint decided to stand up a couple of rows in front of us.....she wasn't impressed when a bottle of water hit her on the head....no idea where that came from

It's a long world tour for them, they play in Phoenix, Arizona in September :ooo.....I see a holiday coming on :D

Also impressive was the warm up 'band'. They were bloody brillaint....must be something to do with the Apollo.....last time I went the Scorpions were the support act :yikes:

Anyway, the band was called PAIN....and it's not really a band :doh.....the lead singer is actually the band, he plays all the instruments in his studio, and mixes them himself. The guitarists and drummer on stage with him were just guest appearances from other bands.....this guy is bloody amazing, look at his CV http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_T%C3%A4gtgren

Download his albums......brilliant :thumbs

I'm going all moist thinking of annette's sweaty towel....

I'll have to check out Pain... looks like he's very involved in the Scandinavian death metal scene - not usually my thing but the Pain thing sounds more interesting. Glad you enjoyed the gig though... and too right £15 is a bargain these days!
