Well here goes, doubt I will even get close to how good yesterday went.

2.30 - Jupiter Pluvius
A horse with tons of potential and must have been showing special over the winter since he was thought of better than Henrythenavigator. Back to 7 is very interesting. 1st time out this year was not too bad and will come on, must be good enough for this. Frankie not on Calming Influence suggests that both Godolphin runners are not good enough. A few dangers and I would fear War Officer if he is able to handle proceedings.

3.05 - Sabana Perdida
Is in form, is improving, distance fine, ground fine, and importantly up to this class. Sets the standard and is the one they have to beat. Heaven Sent will be the favourate but is a horse that looks to me that will throw a dodgy run in and not one to have confidence in. Course form is important though but I will take her on, doubts anyway if she is up to this class.

3.45 - Phoenix Tower
Some good horses in this race and a worthy favourate in Duke Of Marmalade. If you could get 6/4, might look huge at 3.55. Duke sets a very high standard and got the profile of the type to win this race. But this is Royal Ascot and I would want to take him on. Literato if turning up must be there or thereabouts and at the prices looks a good EW. I like Phoenix Tower and is unexposed at both class and distance. Plenty of improvement in the locker and is for me a cracking sporting bet against the hotpot.

4.20 - We'll Come
Bankable could be a stone or more well in so could a certainty, but ground might be against so worth a go against. I like We'll Come, travels well which is vital for this race. Likes the course and still has improvement in the locker.

4.55 - Bahamian Babe
She has the form in the book and at around 10/1 is a worthwhile bet.

5.30 - Illusion
For me a type plotted for this, with the trainer doing well in the race.

Good Luck

Well just one winner but a small profit for the day (when I say small I mean small !!!). Misjudged the draw today but I don't think I am alone there. Thought Illusion had done it in the last but swings and roundabouts after yesterday's luck.

Bankable would have been much closer if he'd gone far side, not sure what they were doing in that race. Still, I laid it for £200, so glad the jock messed up :)

Same every year with the Ascot draw, for the last 2 years I have backed Dandy Man in the Kings Stand and both times got it completly wrong even though the horse has ran a blinder. For me that is part of the fun of Royal Ascot and no doubt watering and rain tonight could change it again. The straight course has a low draw bias but it does depend on jockey decisions, and the principles made the wrong one in the hunt cup. I agree if the field had gone into 2 groups Bankable would have gone close, if not won. My pick and a few others around him did not even get into it, and in the circumstances Bankable ran a blinder.

I expected the pace in the middle today and was wrong, tomorrow on the other hand after rain ...........
