Name of exchange/bookie offering the named odds.

Duplicate bets by different players are NOT allowed.
LAY, IN-RUNNING, MULTIPLES and SPREAD bets are NOT allowed.
Bets must be BACK bets to win/place the outcome/result of each event specified.
Asian Handicap bets are only allowed as long as the bets DO NOT include a DNB (Draw No Bet) option.......ie stake or part of stake returned if the event outcome results in a draw/tie.
Bets are accepted on a first come first served basis.

These teams also played at GMT start time of 03:10 on 07/09/08.
US local time meant this game actually started on the evening of 06/09/08 as far as they (US) were concerned.

The Official MLB site has the first game taking part on 06/09/2008. Bet365 shows todays game (actually 03:05 tomorrow morning) as a Monday game (i.e. takes place on 08/09/08 for betting purposes). As the bet clearly states 7th September, it can only be the second game.

(But I'm happy to go with any ruling you make) :)

I don't think I've made myself very clear at all on this.......

The point I was trying to get across (albeit badly) was......

........by 'covering' a bet with a Joker I meant that you post the bet as normal, but you later have doubts as to whether it will win, for example if the odds drift out between the time you actually post it & the start of the event......so you play a 'covering' Joker (BEFORE the start of the event) instead.......in other words....whatever the result/outcome of the event.....win OR lose..... you use up a Joker, but your lives are NOT affected & the bet posted becomes "for information only"

The other option, I suppose, would be to just scrub that bet & post another to replace it.

Chris, Please could you clarify exactly what you wish to do with your rugby bet:
1. Let it ride & either save or lose a life, depending on the result.
2. Scrub it & post another bet.
3. Play a Joker instead of posting a bet.

Yes, that's right Matt......that's why I ask you to post the current odds & bookmaker/exchange that are offering those odds at the time you post the bet.
As long as the 'back to win' odds being offered at the time you post your bet are 1.5 or above on the exchanges & 1/2 or higher on bookmaker sites, then the bet is valid.
If the odds drift between you posting the bet & the start of the event, this just means that you might decide to cancel your bet & post another, (as long as you make this decision before the event begins).
However, if you have posted a bet and declared the odds at that time at say 1.6,......& then these odds shorten in the run up to the start of the event to 1.3, the bet is still valid.

To re-iterate.......As long as the 'back to win' odds being offered at the time you post your bet are 1.5 or above on the exchanges & 1/2 or higher on bookmaker sites, then the bet is valid......no matter what happens to them (the odds) in the run up to the start of the event.

I don't know what I was expecting really when it came down to the final stages as I hadn't thought that far ahead. Oldham has had the upper hand for a while now so it will be interesting (and exciting!) to see what happens now. It could be considered cruel were Paul to slip in at the death and win it but that's life.

Like I said, exciting to see if Oldham can maintain the dominance he has enjoyed and clinch the prize or will he come unstuck at the final hurdle and let Paul in with a late winner.

This makes for a better finish than I anticipated

I definitely used the odds when picking my selections rather than finding the best bet at the time and not worrying about the odds much. I tended to look at the football matches (as I know more about those than horses, ice hockey, baseball etc) and look for teams around 1/2 or just over. I then used various stats to identify the best bet from that shortlist of teams. It's not at all how I would put together a working system though.
