Random comedy musings....

I'm going to post a few bits and pieces here from my collection of stand up comedy stuff.... one track at a time so it'll only take afew seconds for you to download... a lot of it is American - you'll get classic stuff from Denis Leary, Emo Philips, Cheech and Chong, George Carlin, Groucho Marx, many others, plus I may upload a bit of Billy Connolly again, and Derek & Clive....

Now Im on Virgin ADSL, their fair usage policy comes into play apparently...which means if you download more than 5Gb in peak times during a 1 week period, then the next week your connection will be reset to 80Kb/sec for a 1 week period in peak times!! :yikes: I have definitely hit it this week so Im waiting to see what happens in the next few days...I dont recall having it this bad when on cable?? I know they have something where depending on your speed, they cut it down to maybe half speed for a 4 hour period but nothing like this on ADSL....its just terrible if true. The problem with ISPs as I see it is most say they are unlimited but they hide away their fair usage policy in terms and conditions, which muppets like me dont read!! :ermmm If they take me down to 80Kb Im buying my way out of the contract, £200 or not! :headbange Mind you, Im not sure what BT et al would do in the same situation? I said a few weeks ago that Virgin Media were excellent and I stand by it for phone, CABLE broadband but not their Beyond Cable service...Ito anyone thinking about...I say find someone else!

They cut the speed at around mid morning - till early evening, then it's cut further till around 1030pm when it goes back to full speed - I think my 20Mb goes to around 12Mb then around 5Mb at the slowest part. Still no sign of any limits on what I download though - Still doing around 15-20Gigs a day :yikes:

I see. That sounds ok to me Bigc...fair enough I guess to cut it but as you have a very fast connection speed to begin with, I dont suppose youre that fussed are you and as they dont limit you...? I only get about 2Mb here and that is in the daytime...but to cut it down to 80Kb meaning you can download at about 8Kb/sec....:censored: that! I just wish I could go back to cable as they were first class for me...couldnt fault that side of the busness.
