for the last few weeks i've been going down to my local on a thursday and playing poker. there's normally between 9 -15 players and finally managed to win the game last thursday. What strikes me is how bad the standard of play is. An ace is god if you know what i mean and a draw is a huge bet for these players. Now its taking me about 5 weeks to suss out how to adjust my game to combat this. When they don't hit the draw they can't believe how unlucky they've been. The downside is i have great difficuly getting players to fold if they are on a draw and i'm holding a good hand. Also because these players will play with any old hand its very hard to read them. Normally you get 1 or 2 players getting very lucky and holding a lot of chips and winning the tourny.
a lot of them will call a raise on the final card just to see whta the opponents have. even though they know they are beat.
At first thought you would think it would be a doddle to beat these players but its very hard to do that because out of the players someone gets lucky and hits there draws etc.
