My mobile contract is up on 26 December (what a sensible day) so I need to select a new phone.

The only feature I want that isn't an everyday standard is a sat nav.

Now I have read things that say they have GPRS and you need to add sat nav software but I have no idea about these things. Can anybody give me some advice as to a decent phone.

Also, does anybody know if it is possible to pay up the last month of my contract and cancel it. I would like a new phone asap as my battery is totally :censored:

Thanks

Are you staying with same Network cf? If so, they shouldve offered you an upgrade by now or at least be pestering you to stay with them? If youre leaving your current network and want to take your number, you can give 30 days notice as your in your last month, just ask for a pac code. You should have been billed for the last months line rental anyway on about 26th November. As soon as you give the pac code to your new network, your old contract will finish within 2 to 3 days.Youll just pay for anything outside of your allowances. This is what happened on mine anyway.

I got a call today from some 18 year old knob offering me all sorts of deals but in none of the deals did they offer me a decent phone. All the phones were crap that I could get on pay as you go for less than £50. As it was we never got finished because my effing battery dies after about 1o mins, so now I need to ring them back.

I am with T-Mobile and have been for about 8 years. I tried other providers but they all gave terrible customer service. T-Mobile have always been brilliant to be honest.

Remember these companies are gagging for your business, and you can probably talk them into any deal you want.

I wish that was the case with O2. I renewed my contract in October, 18 months this time, but wasn't allowed the first two phones I wanted because I couldn't have the specific phones on the contract I was already on (and continuing). I think I seriously need to develop my haggling and nagging abilities... persistence is key.

I get offered lousy deals whenever I renew my phone contract because I only pay a small amount a month. I don't see the point of paying more though as I don't use many minutes/texts a month

The thing that peed me off most was that when I looked at the T-Mobile website, I can have just about any phone (except for about 5 mega expensive phones) for free on my current contract yet the pillock who rang me was offering me a right load of old crap.

The only 2 i can remember were the Nokia 6600 and the Sony k770i both of which are decent phones but come free with price plans a lot lower than I pay per month.

I'm not absolutely convinced he was from T-Mobile. I've no idea why but he just sounded suspicious.

I'm not absolutely convinced he was from T-Mobile. I've no idea why but he just sounded suspicious.I've had calls like that. Someone phoning on behalf of my network (Vodafone) but they turned out to just be agents rather than the network themselves.

Can't you phone T-Mobile direct for free from your mobile and ask what they can offer you? If you don't like the deal ask for your PAC code and tell them you will move networks. If I recall correctly you don't have to use the code they give you, it will expire after 30 days or so, so they don't cut you off unless another network takes you on using that code. It threatens them with you leaving and they will often phone up a few days later with a better deal.

Or try making up some deal that Orange or Vodafone have offered you and ask T-Mobile to match it. It doesn't matter whether or not the deal exists, lie if you want, just to see what you can get away with.

I got £30 of my parents Virgin Media package by telling them they'd move to Sky......they'd rather die than have a satellite dish on the house :lickme

A work mate of mine used to be on Orange with a Sony Erikkson something-or-other. Anyway he rang up when it was time to renew his contract and said he wanted to cancel...

"Why?"

"Moving to O2 to get the iPhone"

Guess what her response was?

"Oh, are you sure? They're very complicated, you know."
