You're wrong.

The only reason he shouldn't have been sent off is that he shouldn't have been on the field in the first place.

After 'applauding' the ref following the first booking, he should have been on his way!

i agree with the applaudling bit. BUT he was in the opposing area with near enough a free header. why would he hand ball deliberatly??

The first one was never a booking anyway...he got the ball ffs. Howard Webb was a 'homer' today...he had a mare of a game. I just think it was bizarre that he handled it as he didnt get any advantage...he didnt try to push it into the net as the cheating Argie did a few years ago. By the rules of the game he had to go I guess pez...but as I have said, it shouldve been a red as the first one was ridiculous...imho. But City got what they deserved in the end. :thumbs

Youre right...Webb lost a lot of credibility today. Even on the radio they said he was pants. He booked anything that moved and had a red tinge! He's our best ref as well...apparently! :yikes:

If he played every incident today by the letter of the law- Richards had a foot up in challeging Vidic, Robihno had studs showing and was late on Van der sar, Elano kicked out at Berbatov- all yellows minimum even possible reds. Common sense is needed not ***** who want their faces on tv. Rules should be the same for both teams

Only he knows, nearest player was over a foot away! Maybe he's been taking Beach Volleyball lessons off Scholes! :laugh

The managers view

Alex Ferguson claimed that Ronaldo was “trying to protect his face” when he earned his second yellow card for a deliberate handball, but Mark Hughes, the City manager, ridiculed the case for the defence. “If he thought the ball was going to hit him in the face, why didn’t he head it?” Hughes said.

:laugh great quote.

It was certainly a strange one. Guess he must have heard something as it was a good goalscoring chance. Seemed a harsh yellow seeing as he didn't handball it to gain an advantage, it actually stopped him having a header on goal.

The ref was crap in last week's game as well, when Villa played Man United.

Stopped the game every ten seconds if any United player so much as made the slightest contact with a Villa shirt. Of course Villa got away with just about everything.

I haven't seen the incident from yesterday but it sounds like classic crybaby Ronaldo saga.

If you can find a video of it on youtube, I reckon there was a whistle, a horn goes off and then I'm sure you can here a whistle at the same time...its very strange but it wasnt the ref I know that. The ref only whistled when a Utd player tackled a City player in this match. :doh I watched the highlights again last night and he was so biased towards City. Bring back Poll! :D
